VMBSG is proud to support women across the building surveying and building regulation profession, and to champion greater equality through the VMBSG Women’s Network. We also acknowledge and thank our supporters, including the Building and Plumbing Commission and Russell Kennedy, for their ongoing commitment to strengthening the profession and supporting women in our industry.

The International Women’s Day 2026 theme, Balance the Scales, is a timely reminder of the work still to be done to create a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable and inclusive, where difference is valued and celebrated. We all have a role to play in building workplaces and professional networks where women can thrive, progress, and lead.

International Women’s Day has been observed for more than a century, and since 1911 it has belonged to everyone who cares about gender equality. It is a day to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness of discrimination, and take meaningful action to forge gender parity. All IWD activity is valid, and that is what makes it so inclusive.
