International building safety leaders share global lessons and practical approaches to modern regulatory reform.

Building safety regulation continues to evolve as governments and industry work to strengthen legislation, improve regulatory oversight and create safer, higher-quality buildings.

On Monday 14 September 2026, the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), in collaboration with the International Building Quality Centre (IBQC), will present the free online webinar, Building Safety Regulation in a Changing World: Global Lessons for Reform.

The webinar brings together an outstanding panel of internationally recognised leaders:

Dame Judith Hackitt DBE, architect of the United Kingdom’s post-Grenfell building safety reforms.

Jayashree Srinivasan, Regulatory Specialist with the World Bank Group, who will discuss the B-READY Programme and international regulatory benchmarking.

Adjunct Professor Kim Lovegrove DLitt (honoris causa), FRSN, International Chair of the IBQC, who will present the IBQC International Model Building Act as a blueprint for modern building regulatory reform.

The discussion will be moderated by Dr Victoria Hills, Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Building.
