About the session

The building surveying profession continues to evolve, with changes across regulation, industry expectations, professional practice and the broader Victorian building system shaping what the role of the building surveyor will look like into the future.

This session will bring together key industry organisations and leaders to share their perspectives on the future of building surveying in Victoria, what is changing across the sector and what those working within the profession need to be thinking about now and into the years ahead.

The session will be held with the support and representation of the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (AIBS) and will include presentations from:

  • Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (AIBS)
  • Office of the State Building Surveyor
  • Building and Plumbing Commission

Attendees will hear directly from these organisations about their respective roles, current priorities and perspectives on the future of the profession and the Victorian building regulatory environment.

With several key industry voices in the room, the session will also provide an opportunity to consider the challenges and opportunities ahead for building surveyors, the changing expectations of the profession, and how the sector can continue to develop and strengthen its workforce.

It will be a valuable opportunity to hear from industry leaders, gain a broader understanding of where the profession is heading and be part of the conversation about its future.
