VMBSG News Updates

All VMBSG training and event bookings are now made directly through our website, with options to pay online or request an invoice.

VMBSG has made an important change to the way our training and event bookings are managed.

We are no longer using Eventbrite for VMBSG events. All bookings are now made directly through the VMBSG website.

This means you can now visit the VMBSG website, choose the training session or event you would like to attend, select the appropriate registration type, and complete your booking in one place.

For paid events, you can either book and pay online or request an invoice as part of the checkout process.

Why the change?

Moving bookings directly to the VMBSG website makes the process clearer and easier for members, non-members and organisations booking multiple staff into training.

It also allows VMBSG to streamline fees for each event, so everyone pays the same advertised registration fee. There are no additional credit card processing fees to be added at checkout.

In many cases, event fees are also a little cheaper, as VMBSG no longer needs to include the Eventbrite booking fee.

All event information, registration options and booking details are now available in one central place.

Upcoming VMBSG training and events

There are already several major VMBSG training and event opportunities open or coming up soon.

Our Mid-year Training Day 2026 will be held on Friday 31 July 2026 at Rydges Melbourne. This full-day practical training event, Practical Enforcement, Real Outcomes: Clear processes, sound decisions, defensible results, is designed for municipal building surveyors, building inspectors, and planning/building leaders involved in enforcement, compliance and decision-making.

Bookings are also open for the VMBSG 2026 Annual State Conference, to be held on Thursday 15 and Friday 16 October 2026 at Yarrawonga-Mulwala Golf Club Resort. This year’s conference theme is Judgement Calls in Complex Building Issues: Navigating constraints, existing conditions and competing priorities.

Online professional development sessions are also available through the website, including the upcoming Buyer Protection Reforms & Industry Update session, along with further online and in-person training opportunities as they are announced.
